<aside> 👟 Walkability in Windhoek Windhoek is not the most walkable city. There is a culture of using cars and taxis for the tiniest distances. However, it is safe to walk in most of the city during the day (Still do not walk around with your valuables too visible). Also, it is quite hot to go on foot in certain months.
Part of WildWifi? Our Coliving Space has a bunch of nice restaurants, coworking coffee shops, a pharmacy, a fuel station, and a supermarket within 5 minutes’ walking distance.

The Namibian “Uber” operator are called Lefa and InDriver. Simply download the app and you can order a taxi to wherever you want to go.
With an average of 50 N$ (2,50 Euro) per ride during the day and 70 N$ (3,40 €) per ride during the night it is quite affordable. It is recommended to use Lefa at night to get home instead of walking or taking regular street cabs. You can pay in cash or via the app with your credit card.

The Taxis with the blue number on the site are the regular street cabs the locals use by stopping them at the street. They are not exclusive, they collect as much people on their way as possible. This way you take a lot of detours and you do not always arrive straight to your destination. These are the cheapest taxis but not recommended to use as a tourist.
